About page for RO

Passion is so evident in this person’s writing  but passion alone doesn’t keep people reading.   I’ve blanked out the name of the website so the “After” reads a bit wonky.. but you get the idea:

The Before:

Who Am I

Im a Christian, father, coach, and recovering addict ( food sex drugs ) who wants to help other Christians around the world live with the abundance Christ preached about, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” John 10:10. It’s my belief that caring for our bodies, spirits, and minds is essential for living a life that is truly abundant.

Why I do this

I was like most fitness trainers who just had an interest in helping my clients lose some weight and trying to make money, until one day I walked into my mother’s bedroom and found her sitting in a chair…dead from a massive heart attack. Heart disease, and the cookies, candy, and potato chips that she was addicted to contributed to her death. After that day I dedicated myself to learning everything I could about addiction to sugar and processed food, and helping myself and others break free from food addiction and obesity.

The Challenge I’m facing

Their is an enemy amongst us and our youth. It is disguising itself in the form of food addiction, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and depression. And, not enough Churches are equipping Christians with the tools necessary to battle these evils. Christ took care of both the physical and eternal needs people had, and if we are to be like Christ, we must have an interest in every part of us—our whole being.

Suffering from addiction and metabolic disease is not His will. I believe that God is holistic, and he is concerned with our spirits, minds, and the health of our bodies. Christians who believe that the spirit is good and the body is a temporary temple that can be feed anything is almost sure to suffer from disease, health disparities, or premature death. These foods act like drugs in our bodies, and affect our biochemistry, and hinders us from fully experiencing the abundance, blessings, and life God wants us to have.

You should stick around and fellowship with me if

You feel as though you are addicted to sugar and processed food, overweight/obese, and lacking the physical health, strength and fitness God wants you to have.

The After:

The “***********”

If you are struggling with food and weight and are ready to place your faith in God instead of  dieting and commercial weight loss programs, you have finally come to the right place. Welcome to the better way of living for food-addicted Christians.

My Guide Told Me His Truth

Christ said, “I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 New King James Version) It is my belief that caring for our spirit, mind and body is essential for living a life that is truly abundant. Struggling with food and weight keeps us from that abundance.

He Led Me to be a Guide for Others

I was a fitness trainer with a strong — but not overwhelming — interest in helping my clients lose weight until the day I found my mother dead from a massive heart attack. I know her addiction to cookies, candy and potato chips led to the heart disease that caused her death.

That day I dedicated myself to learning everything I could about addiction to sugar and processed food, and to finding a better way of living free from food addiction and obesity.

Holistic Means “Whole”

Christ took care of both the physical and eternal needs of his disciples, and he promises to care for us, too, if we will just follow Him. Suffering from addiction and metabolic disease is not His will. I believe that God’s Holistic design includes the health of our bodies as well as our spirits and minds.

My training and my faith have led me to solutions to the problems faced by Christians who do not feed their bodies well. These harmful foods can act like drugs in their addictiveness and can affect our biochemistry — manifesting in disease, heart disparities and even premature death.

A sickly body hinders us from fully experiencing the abundance, blessings, and good life God intends for us.
